Equipment

  • 1 pan nonstick, cast iron, or carbon steel

Ingredients

  • 2 flour tortillas
  • 1 tsp butter
  • ½ cup Mexican cheese grated

Optional

  • chicken
  • avocado
  • sour cream
  • salsa

Instructions

Made with uncooked tortillas

  • Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat. Cook one side of each tortilla then set aside, add a touch of butter to the uncooked side. This will give you a nice crispy texture on the outside of the quesadilla.
  • Place one of your tortillas butter side down in the pan and sprinkle with cheese and optional chicken. Cover with the other tortilla butter side up. Check the underside and flip the quesadilla once it has reached your desired doneness.
  • Remove the quesadilla from the pan and cut it into quarters. Serve with Fresh guacamole, sour cream, and/or salsa.
