TIPS FOR MAKING ACAI BOWLS AT HOME
If your Nutella Acai Bowl isn’t coming out just right, you may need to make a few adjustments to your process. Below are a few ideas to get you started:
Find the right ratio between the acai and liquid
When it comes to making acai bowls, blending can sometimes pose a challenge. The frozen acai packet, being one solid chunk, requires a bit of extra effort for the blender to work through. Striking the right balance is crucial because adding too much liquid might result in a bowl that’s too thin for the assortment of toppings you’re planning to add. So, it’s important to find that perfect ratio of acai and liquid to create the ideal consistency for your acai bowl masterpiece.
To ensure effective blending, it is recommended to layer your smoothie in the blender starting with the liquid at the bottom. This technique aids in initiating the motion of the blades, facilitating a smoother blending process.
Use the Blender’s Tamper Attachment or Stop the Blender and Stir the Acai
Using a tamper makes the blending process a breeze, ensuring that the massive block of frozen acai moves evenly and avoids getting stuck while the blades spin aimlessly. However, if you lack a tamper, I recommend pulsing your blender 15-20 times, followed by scraping the inside of the blender after each pulse, to effectively break down large chunks of frozen fruit. This technique will prevent your blender from encountering any obstructions.
Add Addition Liquid
If necessary, incorporate a bit more liquid, but proceed with caution as even a small amount goes a long way once the acai starts to break down. Prioritize ensuring the blender can easily move the frozen fruit chunks, and if the consistency remains too thick, add a splash of extra liquid gradually.
